November 13th, 2016-
Hello, my name is Jaden Houghton, also known by my internet name, DaJoshy. I run a one man game studio called JH Games. As you can probably tell, the JH in JH Games stands for Jaden Houghton. This blog was made so I could track my progress on game development. Also, if you were planning on asking me if I could use your music for my games, don't. I make all of my music for my games and I will only get other people to help me work on music if the soundtrack for the game is very large and extensive. And even then, I will usually have my friends help me make the music and not some random kid on the internet. So, sorry. You can find all of my games on this webpage.
The first two things I have ever submitted to itch.io were two demos for a game called Mister Pitz. Mister Pitz originally started out as a joke character I made for a video of a song I made called Commodore '85. However, I started to like the character more and more and then I decided "Screw it. Let's make a game about him." The game is meant to resemble a C64 game in graphics. I followed all of the rules of a traditional Commodore 64 game by making the pixels 2 times longer and by having only 4 colors per sprite. I also used the C64 color palette. For the music, I didn't try to make it sound like C64 music. Since I have no programs that can create SID music, I just decided to make my standard FamiTracker music. Also, here's a fun little fact. Remember that song I mentioned earlier called Commodore '85? That song is actually going to be in the final game. However, the version in Mister Pitz has more to it and sounds more full. At the moment, there are currently two Mister Pitz games in development. The first one is just called Mister Pitz and I have already talked about that one. The other one is Mister Pitz in Toast Trouble. I originally called it Mister Pitz in Toasted Trouble, but I liked Toast Trouble better. So, that's why you might still see some files that still say Toasted Trouble in the title. I haven't uploaded a demo of the game yet, but I have uploaded the complete soundtrack to the game on my itch.io page. I'd recommend checking it out. It's one of my personal favorite soundtracks that I have made myself. It's also one of my few soundtracks I have made that uses the Konami VRC7 chip. I was also planning on making a 2A03 version of the soundtrack, but I never finished it. The game would have originally had an option to switch between the 2A03 and VRC7 soundtracks, but I scrapped that feature because the 2A03 version of the soundtrack was unfinished. I might finish it one day for the lols.

The Robbery of Monochrome City-
This is the first full game I have ever uploaded to itch.io and I am a little disappointed with this one. The game was rushed because of me being lazy and also because of school work and other stupid crap. So, that's why the gameplay feels a bit weird. This game was also the first game I have ever submitted to a game jam. This game was submitted to GBJAM 5. I was originally going to submit a game for 2016's AGBIC jam based on Island Time. However, I never finished that game. So, I eventually reworked it into Paradise Panic. This game was also featured in part 32 of Jupiter Hadley's series Jupi Plays GBJAM 5. So, thanks for featuring me, even though my game is complete garbage.

Spider Fighter is another game I submitted for a game jam. This time, I submitted it for 2016's Halloween Game Jam. The game is currently in the demo stage. So, that's why the game feels unfinished. This game was also featured in part 4 of Jupiter Hadley's series Jupi Plays Halloween Jam 2016. So, thank you again for featuring my game, Jupi. It's okay if I call you Jupi, right? Besides that, there really isn't much else to say about the game. It a very basic overhead shooter, similar to Commando or Alien Syndrome, where you shoot spiders. I'm going to stop writing for now and I will probably update this again sometime this week.
